Title: THE PROPHET IN THE LIGHTHOUSE
Artist: JUSTIN MATHIAS
Album: DEMO Track #: 4
Copyright: 1981 JUSTIN MATHIAS
Notes: I originally wrote this many years ago when I was 15 years old. I was busy learning the words to Gordon Lightfoots "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" and one thing led to another and this is what I came up with.
Lyrics: When I was a boy a long time ago, my daddy went to sea. My mamma said don't you worry son, He'll come back soon you see. Cause there's a light house on the hill that guides the weary soul. It shines its light out oer the waves for all the young and old........Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh there's a prophet in the lighthouse.......Well the years went by and time did too and the seabirds sang their song. The lighthouse shined its light at night but my daddy still was gone. I used to go and sit at the shore every day at dawn. Sometimes I wondered why the people left at all.......Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh there's a prophet in the lighthouse........Well I walk up to the lighthouse door and I slowly step inside. There I see my daddy's name, He's one of those who died. I look up and I see the stairs as they spiral towards the sky. I climb up to the top to see the lighthouse light. Well I'm standing there and I'm torn between my heart and my mind. The lighthouse light has gone out, the prophet he has died.........Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh the lighthouse, Oh there's no one in the lighthouse...
